A qualified cake and pastry baker is able unsupervised to make ordinary cakes, desserts, ice-creams, doughs, confectionery and other products common to the trade. A qualified cake and pastry baker is familiar with business economics, product development, production planning, operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment, hygiene and environmental standards as well as relevant legislation.
